News from The Shed 2017
It has been 18 months since we took delivery and commissioned our 2200 litre still and mash tun from Burns Welding in Griffiths. It has taken a while to come to grips with scaling up our operations, learning how to get the best out of everything has had its challenges, but we have met each one of them and can report that we now produce better spirit, faster and more efficiently than ever before. This will make it easier for us to one day achieve a state of sustainability that is a major challenge for small malt distilleries. We have doubled production this year and expect to double it again next year!
Iniquity has been seen at the Oak Barrel's Whisky Festival, Whisky Live in Melbourne and Adelaide in a program that concentrates on the SE States. We will be doing these events again in 2018 with the addition of an event in either Canberra or Brisbane. We hope to see you at one of these events. Please drop by and say "Hello".
2017 also saw the launch of our 20 litre private barrel program that has proved quite popular. The first of these barrels is due to be delivered to its owner in about 12 months and early indictations are that these will be an outstanding success in terms of the quality of the spirit produced.
We have recently expanded our footprint in our current location, a necessity from a production and storage perspective. As a result we have been forced to rethink our Museum Stock philosophy, which means we have stocks of some old favourites available through the web site until sold out. The museum stock had been set aside for some special events that never took place,
Next year we will continue to release consistently good quality, enjoyable single malt. We will be making a portion of our Gold Label series available in 200ml bottles so more people can share the experience and we are looking at starting our own whisky club, once again utilising the 200ml bottle and some attractive pricing.
Have a safe and Merry Christmas, a prosperous New Year with lots of good (Iniquity) cheer.
Cheers from The Shed.
