Iniquity World Whisky Day 2025 Limited Release
Tasting Notes
Colour
Autumn browns and gold.
Nose
The nose smells like, well, whisky! The malt is obvious, but also present is a creamy note that probably originates in the Cuvee cask and is reminiscent of sweet English toffee. There is the faintest hint of applewood. It is well integrated and hard to describe, but I could smell it all day quite happily!
Palate
The palate is a kaleidoscope of flavours, each changing places so rapidly it is hard to identify anything specific. The mouthfeel is a luxurious velvety one that leaves a warm tingle on your tongue. Add a splash of water and you find yourself in whisky nirvana with mouthfeel that massages the inside of your mouth and transforms the spirit. Now there is a ripe fruit note with a rare sweetness to it that may have originated in the rum cask. Delightful stuff.
Finish
The finish is light, but long. The journey through this whisky continues in a manner that is lighter than most you might be accustomed to from Iniquity, but tantalising, delicious and leaves you wanting more.
Provenance
49.1% ABV
A blend of a Cuvee cask, an ex-Beenleigh Rum Cask and a Bourbon cask that had been smoked with wood smoke from a Bramley Apple Tree. Only 73 bottles filled and signed by the distiller, Vic Orlow.
5 YO
Comment
At 49.1% ABV this is a whisky you should devote a little time to. It is the perfect dram for celebrating World Whisky Day with friends. A Goldilocks whisky for winter.
