TSD Nairne Whisky
Tasting Notes
Colour
Pale gold.
Nose
Green apple, madeira cake and pineapple marmalade with a hint of jammy shiraz and outback campfire. A lighter but revelatory nose.
Palate
Crispy toffee apple, crème brûlée and burnt butter. Followed by dark cherry, milk chocolate, a hint of nutmeg and smoky paprika. There is a full and rounded mouthfeel and whilst it appears at first glance to be a simple dram, there is complexity in abundance if you take the time to search for it.
Finish
The finish is bright with more dark berries and a persistent subtle smoke.
Provenance
40% ABV
3YO
Ex-shiraz casks of our lightly peated single malt, expertly blended with 3YO ex-bourbon casks of re-distilled grain wheat spirit, vatted and rested for 3 months before bottling.
Comment
Here at The Shed we are unashamedly single malt snobs, but this masterful creation has changed our minds somewhat. It doesn't wear the Iniquity brand, but this dram is equally wicked and sinful because it is so damn easy to drink, either neat, over ice, with a mixer or in a cocktail, it doesn't matter because it is just perfect for all the above.
