The Den's Dram Event, First Release & Pirate Girls

On a quiet Tuesday night in November 2021, around 50 whisky tragics gathered at the Joiners’ Arms Hotel, opposite Cooper’s Stadium in Hindmarsh, S.A. for our first official Den's Dram event.

The hotel was closed to the public, it was a private event with no mask wearing.
Apart from a love of whisky, the common thread to the members of the gathering was that they were all devotees of Iniquity Single Malt, and members of The Den.

They had paid a modest fee to gather and pit their skills against each other for the fun and recognition of blending the first of the official Den’s Drams; a limited release, small batch single malt.

Each of the Den members was given 5 x 100ml samples of different casks, plus water, a recipe sheet, a pipette, and a syringe. They were also given 75 minutes to put together a blend of as many or as few of the casks as suited their palates. They participated as teams of three. Whisky blending is a team sport!

When the allotted time expired the entries were submitted, anonymously. Whilst judging took place the Den members partook of a palate cleansing ale or two and a few bowls of Glasgow Salad before engaging in an entertaining quiz session that yielded many prizes of whisky to some very happy people.

The last placed team was given a consolation prize of a bottle of Piotr Vodka.

The third-place team was awarded a 200ml bottle of Iniquity Silver label Single Malt each.

The second-place team was also awarded a 200ml bottle of Iniquity Silver Label Single Malt each, plus an Iniquity T-Shirt.

The winning team was awarded a 200ml bottle of Iniquity Gold Batch 006 Cask Strength Single Malt whisky each.

And the winning team was...

Sam Graydon, Irina Arhipova and Nemesia Dale-Cully from Pirate Life Brewery.
In recognition of their success, the Den’s Dram release will be known as The Pirate Girls.

We only filled 100 x 700mL bottles of Den's Dram - The Pirate Girls and they are only available through our virtual cellar door right here in our bottle shop. The girls elected to blend their dram at exactly 46% ABV and the price for this edition of the Den’s Dram is $160. Normal members’ discounts apply. To reduce costs this bottling will be delivered in the new Iniquity Z-Box.
